Dear Ronnie,
Having my wife’s rings cleaned at your store today again reminded me of how well you personally took care of us 4 years ago when the surprise of that 25th anniversary gift didn’t turn out as I had planned it.
When I purchased the rings (new solitaire diamond engagement and wedding band), I notified my credit card company twice to make sure their security unit would not call our home to question the purchase. My plan was to present the rings at our favorite French restaurant on the evening of our anniversary dinner.
In spite of the best laid plans, the credit card fraud unit called my wife the next day. She reached me by cell phone, panicky and upset that the caller had advised of a “large” purchase made the day before at a jewelry store in Vienna, VA. She told them “It couldn’t have been my husband, he doesn’t buy me expensive jewelry!” Her purse had been stolen a few months prior and even though her credit cards were canceled at the time, she was sure that the two events must be connected.
She soon learned that I made the purchase. Never have I seen panic turn so quickly to euphoria. Since the secret was out, we drove to your store to see her new jewelry. You happened to hear our tale of woe, and immediately set about making sure that we got the full VIP treatment. This also gave my wife the chance to “upgrade” her settings, and it turned into a most memorable day, including the extra special service of making the rings ready for us to pick up in time for a wedding that evening.
Diamond rings can be purchased at a multitude of places, but it is the personal service that you provide that makes your company unique, and it will keep us repeating the story of how you helped to make the best of my blown surprise.

For my engagement ring, 5 years ago, my husband purchased a beautiful 1.5 carat round diamond from you. Since then, I have upgraded to a 2 carat round. I am a diamond girl and love the compliments I get on my ring. I make sure I tell everyone where I got it. My friends joke with me about my obsession with my diamond ring.

Dear Mr. Mervis,
I had spent a good deal of time searching for the perfect diamond and
setting that I would later give to my girlfriend. I had been to several
different diamond dealers, but none gave me the feeling that I would get
anything close to my money's worth. Some things the salesmen would say did
not sound too assuring and the pressure they put on me to buy as soon as
possible was not comfortable at all.

I have purchased a great deal of jewelry, some very good, some ok, for my wife but this is the best jewelry purchase experience I have ever had. I don't strike a very sophisticated pose; in fact I was soaking wet from the rain today and I only had a limited budget so I was very specific with what I was looking for. My sales rep was Marie Kezempur. She didn't think twice about my appearance and was able to show me 2 selections that were in my price range. I was very pleased with both of them. I purchased the less expensive pair but still I feel I received a quality pair of studs. The next time I purchase anything with diamonds in it, it will be from Mervis. Dear Leon and Mervis family,
We would like to briefly write about our good experience recently purchasing a diamond engagement ring from Mervis Diamond Importers. We were impressed with the unique atmosphere, the friendly staff (Leon Mervis and Marilyn), the range of selection in designer settings, and the exceptional quality of the diamonds. At Mervis, you get your own room, with your own salesperson. Some places we visited rotated through salespeople, some placed their prices superficially high (so you bargain and in the end you are still getting a high price), and some had impatient salespeople (no salesperson should ever get impatient when you are about to spend thousands of dollars). Most importantly, we visited countless other jewelers in our search and none of the other diamonds we saw had the same sparkle as the ones we saw at Mervis.
Another unique thing that Mervis did for us was lend us a loaner ring. Let me explain a little further. My girlfriend and I decided to look for engagement rings together, which leaves little room for a surprise proposal. We decided to get a Tacori setting which takes Tacori 4-6 weeks to make. I had to defend my master's thesis in Atlanta two weeks before I was to receive the engagement ring. I convinced her to come with me and I wanted to surprise her in Atlanta and propose to her there. I came up with the crazy idea to call Leon to see if I could borrow an engagement ring to propose with in Atlanta. To my surprise he said yes and was extremely helpful in regards to my plans. I asked my girlfriend to marry me at the top of the Westin Hotel in Atlanta. The night was a success and my now fiancée was caught completely off-guard.
My advice to other couples is to check out other places to see what is out there, but make sure that one of the places you are looking at is Mervis Diamond Importers. For us the quality, courteous staff, and prices spoke for themselves. I was so pleased with Mervis that I bought her wedding band there along with her engagement ring. We will be sure to return for my wedding band and for our future jewelry needs.
