It began way back in 1867, when a schoolboy named Erasmus Jacobs spotted a diamond sparkling in the sunshine along the Orange River near Kimberley, South Africa. Adventurers and prospectors soon converged in droves on South Africa. By the turn of the century, Morris Mervis was among those digging furiously in the diamond fields. Family patriarch and legendary diamond aficionado, he founded the Mervis Brothers Company, which soon became a prominent, highly respected diamond trader.
The name Ronnie Mervis is familiar to you; it’s the voice you hear on the radio every day. Morris Mervis passed along his passion and principles to his sons and grandsons, and today Mervis Diamond Importers continues to be a family business founded on resolute family values.
