Many of you saw our post yesterday about Laura Randolph, a woman from Waldorf, Maryland who received the wrong ring from another jewelry store, and asked WUSA9’s Call for Action team to help her make things right. Our Mervis family saw the story and instantly wanted to help. We value our honesty and integrity very seriously and treat each and every customer like they are a member of our family.
We decided we wanted to give Laura a Mother’s Day surprise to re-instill her faith in retailers. We surprised her at WUSA9 News last night and presented her with a $1,000 shopping spree at Mervis Diamond and a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Maryam’s Flowers.
We are sure the mistake at Jared’s was exactly that – a mistake – and this one-time incident shouldn’t be misunderstood by the public as an intentional act of deception by a jeweler, or give the impression that all jewelers should be mistrusted. As a third-generation family business ourselves, we take honesty and integrity very seriously and were thrilled to have the opportunity to give Laura a chance to feel like a princess!
