Diamonds- Table Percentage
Table percentage refers to the width of the top part of the diamond (the table) as a percentage of the total width of the diamond at its widest point (the girdle).
The ideal proportions of a diamond call for a table percentage of 53% to 58%. It's important to remember that this is just one factor of many (depth percentage, polish, etc.) that contribute to the sparkle of an ideal cut diamond. It's the combination of factors that is important.
These are the generally accepted values for table percentage across the diamond industry:
Ideal = 53 - 58%
Excellent = 58.1 - 60%
Good = 60.1 - 64%
Fair = 64 - 70%
Poor = over 70%
